Who I am

This website belongs to Rooh Yaseen, a self-employed director of photography and filmmaker based in Bournemouth and London. I am the data controller for any personal information collected through it.

What I collect

This site has no accounts or newsletter. The only personal data I receive is:

• Emails you send me - your name, email address and anything you choose to include (for example a job description or project brief).
• Phone calls or messages you send to the number listed - your number and message.
• Basic technical logs kept by my hosting provider - IP address, browser type and pages requested - used only for security and to keep the site running.

Why I use it

I use your details only to reply to you, discuss a role or project, and - if we work together - to deliver that work and send invoices.

The lawful basis is my legitimate interest in responding to enquiries, or taking steps at your request before entering into a contract. I never sell your data or add you to marketing lists.

Who it’s shared with

Your data is handled by a small number of trusted services that help me run my business: my email provider, my website host, and (if we work together) my accounting software. Each processes data only on my instructions.

Some of these providers may store data outside the UK. Where they do, they rely on UK-approved safeguards such as the International Data Transfer Agreement or adequacy regulations.

How long I keep it

Enquiry emails that don’t lead to work are deleted within 24 months. Client records are kept for six years after the end of a project, as required by HMRC. Hosting logs are kept by the host for up to 30 days.

Cookies

This site does not use tracking cookies, analytics or tracking pixels, so there is no tracking cookie banner.

Some stills are loaded from YouTube’s image servers and the hero showreel from my video host. These requests share your IP address with those services but set no cookies. Project videos use YouTube’s privacy-enhanced player, which only loads after you press play.

Links to YouTube, Instagram and WhatsApp take you to those services, which have their own privacy and cookie policies.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask me to:

• Give you a copy of the personal data I hold about you
• Correct anything that’s inaccurate
• Delete your data
• Restrict or object to how I use it
• Send your data to you or another organisation in a portable format

Complaints

Email me first and I’ll respond within one month. If you’re unhappy with my answer, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
